My husband and I recently purchased a home in the Hermosa/Redondo area and we were so excited to host our friends and family for a housewarming party. I figured with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, it would be the perfect opportunity to work on some Valentine’s inspiration!
We loved working with our realtor Steve Ploetz to find our home (he was also my sister’s realtor) and working with Dale from Contemporary Catering was equally as great. But before we get to the food, we’ll share a little peek at the house and some Valentine’s decor.
I started with the outside of the house by creating a “Happy Valentine’s Day” sign. I re-purposed and older sign with our old address on it ~ no sense in buying new wood! We also hung a heart shaped, red petal wreath on the front door…perfect to stay up all month long.
Now to the delicious food! Working with Contemporary Catering, we developed a menu of “finger foods” easy for our guests to enjoy. And to accent the yummies, we made label flags and finished them off with hearts for Valentine’s Day!
We brought in a few random items from our favorite ~ Trader Joe’s ~ and Dale even helped us garnish and serve them as well!
Now to my favorite part…dessert! We brought in mini cupcakes from SusieCakes, ordered French Macarons from RueLaLa and made homemade chocolate chip cookies and raspberry tartlettes.
Adding labels to any affair can spruce things up and make a “finished” look! For Valentine’s Day using the traditional red, pink and white, with a few hearts thrown in ~ you’re sure to LOVE your decor!
