We’ve done many maps of New York City, but each one ends up being a unique piece of art representing the couple who has commissioned it. And today’s map truly exemplifies that.
Our couples always give us points of interest and this groom also sent us a little insight into the locations. The bride is a Jersey girl, the groom hailing from Michigan {you’ll notice the “D” for “Detroit” trailing off the airplane}, so they wanted to share an assortment of key places with their out of town guests. You can see in the top right corner, at 54th and Madison, the large New York building where the couple first met ~ they both worked in the building! Battery Park at the Southern tip of Manhattan marks the spot where the couple got engaged, and the couple resides across the river in Weehawken, NJ.
Moving on to the wedding itself, the ceremony will take place at The Vanderbilt at South Beach and the reception will be held Richmond County Yacht Club off the Great Kills Harbor. The bride’s family has an old wooden sailboat named Narwahl docked there ~ and we’ve paid tribute with the sailboat in the middle pulling the “Save the Date” sign!
It’s special tributes like these that truly make a map personal, unique and meaningful to your guests!
