{Real Wedding} Kona, HI {part II}

Earlier this week I shared some of my favorite photos from my wedding ceremony, and today I have the reception! Again, the entire wedding weekend was coordinated by Beth Helmstetter {who double-dutied as a bridesmaid too} and captured beautifully by Steve Steinhardt.
After the ceremony, guests mingled over hors d’oeuvres and cocktails that featured hand crafted seashell stir sticks.

After cocktail hour, we all found our way to our tables. The escort cards were hung on a bamboo ladder each with a symbol indicating the person’s table. And at each place setting was a letter pressed menu with a grasscloth belly band and place card hand-stitched on {by my mom!}.

The table settings were made up of lush linens by La Tavola that we brought with us from the mainland. We used capiz shell chargers and mix-and-match dishes that we had collected for my sister’s wedding six months prior! The centerpieces featured bleached seashells and coral peonies ~ they were truly a colorful feast for the eyes!

It’s no secret that I have quite the sweet-tooth, so for my own wedding, we most certainly didn’t hold back! We had a gorgeous cake that included a seahorse design to match our print materials, and Beth put together a stunning dessert buffet!

Guests also took home grass leaf boxes with local turtle charms that were filled with Hawaiian cookies. Perfect for the plane rides home scheduled for the next day!

After dinner, speeches and dessert, we all danced the night away to celebrate! It was certainly the most magical of evenings for Jeremy and myself, along with our closest friends and family.
