This weekend one of our lovely couples was married in Newport, and we had created a custom map for their wedding website and cards for the wedding itself. In addition, we were really excited when the bride contacted us shortly after she had received the first map to commission us for a second project!
The couple recently purchased a house in Sun Valley and the bride decided to give her fiancé two large{22×30”} posters as a gift. The maps depict Sun Valley in the summer and winter and will hang side by side in the new house ~ what a creative idea!
As you can see, both maps include the main attractions such as Mount Baldy, Dollar Mountain, Sun Valley Lodge, River Run Lodge, Warm Springs Lodge, Trail Creek Cabin, Big Wood River and restaurants The Kneadery, Grumpy’s, Whiskey Jacques and The Pioneer. Both maps also include the Downtown Ketchum area known for assorted shops, and of course the couple’s home!
The summer version also highlights inner tubing on the river, hikers, bikers, fireworks and golfing at Sun Valley club. Winter showcases the snow tubing run and terrain park on Dollar Mountain, skiers, snow shoers, ice skaters and sleigh rides. The map also includes a Christmas tree outside of the couple’s home and the torchlight parade ~ a Christmas Eve tradition during which the town sends skiers down Dollar Mountain with torches! It’s one of the groom’s favorite traditions…
