With my little sister and her husband celebrating their one year anniversary yesterday {see the full wedding on Style Me Pretty!}, I asked her to put together some photos of items from their wedding that they still use in their home. Combined with things from my own wedding, we have re-purposed quite a few pieces of decor!
She used these letters from Anthropologie on the sweetheart table…
And now they adorn her buffet at home!
This cake box that was hand crafted by a thoughtful neighbor is now used in holiday front entry way decor!
{and that sign was also originally used at the wedding but repainted for Halloween!}
A collection of chimes and lanterns…
Were used for decoration at my 30th birthday party and now act as living room accessories…
Letters used on the cake table now welcome guests to the “Law” house!
Even the wedding restroom “added touches” have remained in the home.
A three-tiered tray purchased for a dessert display table…
{photo from Pottery Barn; no wedding pic available}
Served as a dessert display once again at my birthday, and my sister has now used it to create a festive fall display in her home!
And finally the dishes that my mom and sister scoured every Home Goods & TJMaxx up and down the Southern California coast to collect {combined with planner Beth Helmstetter’s collection} for mix and match dishes at the wedding…
Were re-purposed as chargers at my own bridal shower and we now each have sets of our own to use for dinners and soirees to come!
As you can see, there are many ways to re-purpose your favorite, personalized decor items from your wedding. These extra touches can add up in your budget, so if you are planning to add to your special day in this way, try to consider items that you would be willing to include in your home for years to come.
Aside from the aesthetic qualities, these special touches in your home will continuously remind you of your very special day!
