{Halloween Calligraphy Workshop} Karson Butler Events + Sweet Tea Photography

It’s been a busy summer of calligraphy workshops, and we were so excited to add one more to the schedule with our friends at Karson Butler Events with a Halloween theme! Emily went above and beyond with all the fun details for this Washington, DC beginner’s class. A very special thank you to Sweet Tea Photography & Victoria Clausen Florals for making this such an amazing class!

From Emily at Karson Butler Events:
“We were thrilled to partner with Laura Hooper Calligraphy to host a Halloween inspired calligraphy workshop at our east coast design studio in Washington, DC. Our color palette included blacks, silvers and green as we wanted to steer clear of the traditional orange and do something a bit different. Pottery Barn’s mercury glass pumpkins provided the perfect balance of glamour and festive flare too! We love Pottery Barn for pieces that can transition all season long – we are already planning an autumnal look of mixed metallics for our Thanksgiving table. Floral and greenery with interesting textures, shapes, and sizes from Victoria Clausen Floral enhanced our mad scientist food and drink table. We used a variety of beakers filled with dry ice and mounted a custom periodic table from Laura Hooper Calligraphy to complete our look. (Tip – when designing a food/bar station think beyond the tabletop itself. Decorate behind, above, or around the table to elevate the look!)

Festive mulled wine and apple cider sparkling cocktails were served featuring ONEHOPE Wine. How perfect is the ONEHOPE Glitter Edition Brut Sparkling Wine? We love ONEHOPE Wine which donates half of profits to make a social impact for every bottle purchased. We can certainly toast to the fact that half of the profits from the purchase of this wine go directly to help end childhood hunger in America.  Get the full recipe for the Cinnamon Orange Sparkling Cocktail here!.  A grown up version of trick or treating included a wine and halloween candy pairing.

In addition to a full class of calligraphy tips and tricks, each student received a custom tote bag and a glittery mini-pumpkin (an easy DIY using modge podge and glitter.) We loved adding a festive touch to the calligraphy class and wish everyone a Spooktactular Halloween!

Thank you to Lisa Marie with Sweet Tea Photography for all the beautiful images – enjoy!”
