We are interrupting our Thursday calligraphy tips to show you some of our most recent, exciting calligraphy projects for some inspiration on how to apply your calligraphy & lettering to real life events. For the next three weeks, we’ll be showing you a variety of projects you can try out yourself for any events you’ll be hosting or working on this year. And if you need some professional help, you always know where to find us 🙂
First up is photographer Abby Jiu’s baby shower. I met Abby about four years ago after first moving to the DC area. I don’t remember how we found each other, but she photographed a shoot for us, and we’ve been friends ever since! We’ve worked on countless weddings, holiday shoots, book shoots and more together. She has impeccable attention to detail and brings out the best in any event with her photography. This show was of course so special since it was for Abby herself! The theme for her baby shower was Moroccan with beautiful shades of blue. With the three insanely talented event planners who ran the show, we knew it would be stunning, but we were blown away by their vision and creativity. {See the full post on Glitter Guide here!}
Project #1 // Envelope Calligraphy: We used our white ink on black envelopes with vintage stamps in shades of blue. If you need some tips on how to write straight, read this post where I talk about a tool to help you get guidelines of any size.
Project #2 // Blue plexiglass menu for bubble tea bar: I loved this project and writing on plexiglass is very fun. This plexiglass was from a local source and I used this white paint pen.
Project # 3 // Morrocan tile place cards: We talk about how to write on polished surfaces in this post so you can see our best tips. I used this gold paint pen for the lettering.
Project #4 // Cheeseboard menu: Everyone loves a good cheeseboard, right? This cheeseboard is from Home Goods, and I used the same gold paint pen here.
Wasn’t this the most lovely baby shower?! I wish I could live in these colors. Abby, we love you and can’t wait to meet your bundle of joy!
