Adventures of a Bride-to-Be

After, taking a planning hiatus for about 6 months, I feel like everything is now back up in full swing with the wedding less than 2 months away. All of our vendors are confirmed and double confirmed! The week began with work in Vegas, then I drove back into town on Thursday evening and arrived to a shipment of my vintage stamps! Finally, I thought, I will get these done and out. I spent about an hour completing all of my invitations for my in-state guests. Done and in the mail and our guests have all now received them. (Happy Dance)Then, I started packing for our weekend in Santa Barbara with my parents and Wes for food tasting and fun.

Get ready here comes our world wind weekend! We met my parents on Friday morning in Santa Barbara. From that point our heels were running. I had meetings set up from the start of the weekend to the end. After arriving at 9am, the guys dropped my mom and I off to meet with Jerry at SR Hogue; at 10am we had a great meeting to finalize the personal flowers, ceremony flowers, rentals, linens and so much more. I feel very relieved that all of that is taken care of by Jerry and he definitely listened to all of my concerns and is even purchasing new containers for me. Following that meeting we met with the banquet staff at San Ysidro and tasted all of our yummy food. Can I saw WOW crazy amazing food and cake. We finalized all of our passed hors d’oeuvres, starters, salad, main entree selections and dessert. We were stuffed to say the least after that food tasting. We then walked the grounds and started a timeline with the event coordinator Shani. Guests will arrive by 4:30pm then be escorted to the lower gardens where all of the fun will begin.

Saturday morning Dedra Whitt came to our hotel, the Canary Hotel, to do a hair and make up trial. I love doing girlie things, especially with my mom. We had a great breakfast and confirmed my hair and my makeup colors.

We then filled the rest of the weekend with unwinding in Santa Ynez and Montecito trying to find the Bowyer compound to rent for the week of the wedding.

It is always so crazy to me how quickly things go by. I want to rewind time and just do this whole weekend again next, but I can’t…So next time Wes and I arrive at the Santa Barbara airport again, it will be wedding weekend!

Always with love,Aly
