If you’re thinking of unique and loving ways to include your pet in your wedding, you will appreciate today’s featured custom wedding stationery set that we designed for a luxurious winter wonderland themed wedding, complete with personalized watercolor artwork that we hand painted. In this featured luxurious winter wedding invitation suite and day of the wedding details in shades of green with touches of gold and velvet accents, it was the custom watercolor artwork of the couple’s dog that stole the show.
Creativity Creates Cohesion
Steffi and Sean wanted to be sure to include their pet in some of their wedding day in Washington, DC. We love the personal touch their beloved pet added to their custom wedding day details and stationery. He made an appearance in the invitation suite and throughout the wedding day too!
We love it when we get to be creative and artistic while working with our custom wedding invitation design clients. There are so many different techniques and creative materials we can use when creating wedding invitations and day-of-the-wedding details to personalize the invitation suite, place cards, menus, signage, and more.
Their elegant wedding stationery was a cohesive set that truly set the tone for their wedding day where each element was thoughtfully designed and intentionally incorporated throughout the day from start to finish.
We are so honored to share photos from Sarah Bradshaw of this personalized wedding invitation set that we custom-designed with gold, white, and green details for a luxurious winter wonderland-themed wedding in Washington, D.C.
Personalized Watercolor Envelope Liner Art
For this winter wonderland wedding stationery set, we created the hand-painted artwork depicting the couple with their sweet pup, Albie, for the wedding invitation’s envelope liner. The couple loved their hand-painted watercolor artwork so much that we then had it made into an art print for them to frame in their home.
Their custom watercolor envelope liner was placed into hand-calligraphed racing green envelopes. We did our signature hand calligraphy in a sophisticated script with luxurious gold ink. The combination of the gold calligraphy on the dark green wedding invitation envelopes was an elegant yet modern touch, while the watercolor envelope liner provided just a touch of color to the suite.
Elegant Yet Modern Touches
The wedding invitation card itself was printed in gold foil on thick white coverstock, hand-tied with a green velvet ribbon, and secured with an antique gold wax seal with the couple’s wedding monogram. For the wedding invitation, we also added our signature hand calligraphy writing for the couple’s name and the wedding venue to coordinate along with the modern font for the rest of the invitation details.
A wedding details card in a light shade of mint green with a dark green print was included in the invitation suite with RSVP information. The monochromatic green on green wedding information card also included helpful details so their wedding guests knew when to be where, and out-of-town guests could make travel arrangements.
The contrasting details of colors and textures of each element provided a sophisticated yet modern feel to the entire wedding invitation suite.
Intentional Day of the Wedding Details
For the day-of wedding details, many of the same textures, calligraphy, fonts, and watercolor elements from the winter wonderland-inspired wedding invitation suite were used. This added touch gave a cohesive and intentional feel to their wedding day by incorporating many of the same details from their invitation set. With all of our custom wedding invitation suite designs, our goal is to work with our clients to provide their wedding guests with a little taste of what’s to come with the invitation, and then they are treated to the full experience on the wedding day.
The monochromatic green on green tented escort cards – which matched the same color and print combination used in the wedding invitation suite’s information card – directed each wedding guest to their tables. Because the couple loved the custom watercolor art work that we did for their invitation’s envelope liner – and we can’t blame them, it was super cute! – we included a framed print of the invitation liner and stood it at the table with their escort cards so their guests could enjoy it – again!

At each reception table’s seat, guests were greeted with a double-duty personalized place card and wedding menu. The custom menu place cards were small folded cards in thick white cardstock with each guest’s wedding dinner menu on the inside. The outside of the personalized place card included a custom monogrammed wax seal with the couple’s wedding monogram, the same custom wax seal used in their wedding invitation. Each’s guest name was written on the menu cards in our signature gold calligraphy, which matched the calligraphy style that we used throughout their invitation suite
We were also able to carry details from their wedding invitation suite over to the cocktail hour and reception bar areas. The custom bar signs that informed guests of the signature drink being offered included the same custom watercolor print of the couple walking with their pup, Albie, from the wedding invitation envelope’s liner.
Albie also showed up as separate custom watercolor artwork that we added to the custom cocktail napkins. We were so happy to be able to thoroughly include Albie in the couple’s magical day!
