Calligraphy Uplevels Wedding Details
If you are wedding planning and searching for a simple and effective way to elevate your wedding invitations and wedding day stationery, handwritten calligraphy may be the answer you are searching for. Adding the touch of hand calligraphy to your invitation or your escort cards is a unique way to create a warm and inviting setting at your wedding.
Paying attention to the smaller details, like your wedding day place cards or wedding invitation addressing, can help personalize your wedding day even more and create that cohesive look for the day from start to finish. Calligraphy allows you to get very personalized with each detail to uplevel your whole wedding design.
On a wedding day, there are some items that can’t be run through a printer. From invitations to signs, handwritten calligraphy expands the possibilities for your wedding stationery suite and wedding reception decor. Your wedding invitation sets the stage for your wedding day, and who wouldn’t love to receive an elegant wedding invitation with a calligraphed address in the mail? Or look down at their place setting and see that it was personally handwritten just for them with their name in gorgeous calligraphy handwriting.
We were honored to help further personalize the wedding stationery for Summer and Nicholas’ wedding in Washington, DC by adding our signature hand calligraphy to the wedding invitation design as well as to details throughout the wedding day. Using our hand calligraphy was a way to tie many of the wedding’s details and decor together to create a cohesive look. For their thick white card stock invitation with gold foil edging and navy blue letterpress print, we wrote the couple’s names in hand calligraphy. Their names were then letterpressed in gold onto the invitations.
Elegant Outdoor Escort Card Display
For this autumn wedding in the city, we created hand calligraphy wedding escort cards that hung on a stunning white lattice board display. This escort card display was beautifully decorated with an abundance of white roses, white hydrangeas, and lush greenery. It was the perfect eye-catching display to match the elegant country club wedding.
The wall was filled with small navy envelopes with white calligraphed names. The envelopes held the escort cards which contained the wedding guests’ table assignments. This installation was on display during the wedding’s outdoor cocktail hour so that guests had time to mingle and create conversation as they found their individual calligraphy name cards and seating assignments.
Their navy blue and white escort card wall did double duty in both form and function because it served as the place where guests found their table number, but was also beautifully decorated so that it became a focal decor piece for the pre-reception festivities.

Vibrant Wedding Reception Paper Goods
The vibrant, lush floral arrangements may have stolen the show at this ballroom wedding reception, but we were happy to have added some elegant touches to the wedding reception decor with our custom hand calligraphy. The navy, white, and gold color scheme with our hand calligraphy continued from the wedding invitation to the cocktail hour escort card wall and then through to the reception with the table numbers and wedding menu place cards.
We custom-designed simple but elegant table numbers held in gold stands on thick white card stock with gold foil edging and navy blue hand calligraphy numbers. Once guests found their table, they found their seat asignment with a personalized menu at each place setting. The wedding menus doubled as place cards with guest names hand-calligraphed on the top of each menu card at each place setting.
